The Oakhurst community is vibrant, diverse and home to a variety of local businesses, beautiful public parks, a community garden, a wonderful school system and an active creative community. Oakhurst is anchored by Oakhurst Village, an eclectic assortment of shops, restaurants and markets. This historic neighborhood is situated just east of the downtown core, close-enough to easily access downtown amenities, yet far-enough away to have its own unique character and feel.
Oakhurst is predominantly a residential community. The primary architectural style of the period homes is that of craftsman bungalows although some homes were also built in the more modest post-war style of the 1940s. This area has seen a recent boost in property value as it has quickly gentrified and become one of Atlanta’s most popular suburbs. Amenities in the area include McKoy & Oakhurst Park, as well as Oakhurst Elementary School.
